Vogue Italia September 2009: Rihanna
Vogue Italia does it again by embracing diversity with women of color in the fashion industry and showcasing who is hot rather then going with one image of beauty. Rihanna is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to cutting edge style. She takes risks and isn't that what fashion is all about????
Style Tips
I absolutely love books so I'm excited that Nina Garcia of Project Runway has a great new book titled, " The Style Strategy" where she gives her tips of the less is more approach to dressing and how to get maximun wear out of your current wardrobe while adding new key pieces. Nina's other stylish books include, The One Hundred and The Little Black Book of Style. These fabulous books can be purchased online at http://www.amazon.com/.

Hot Fashion Trend: Military Jackets
The Inspiration: Michael Jackson at the 1984 Grammys
3.1 Philip Lim
BB Dakota
Beyonce in Balmain
Demin Balmain
Beyonce in Balmain
Military jackets are popping up on the fashion scene with force but Michael Jackson was definitely way ahead of the fashion houses with this style. I think they are hot and can add a certain flair to your wardrobe but because of the embellishments on these jackets, little or no accessories are needed!

Sassy Shoe Saturdays #3
Pump Up the Volume by Deanna Jackson featuring Brian Atwood shoes
The higher the heel, the better for me because I love stilettos. These Brian Atwood purple suede, bootie style pumps are the business and I would dress them up with a black pencil skirt and ruffled top or dress them down with some distressed jeans paired with a super comfy tee.

Hot Fashion Trend: Clutch Bags
Kara Ross python clutch
Jimmy Choo fuschia leopard print clutch
Another great Forever 21 find. I paid about $18 for my faux alligator clutch.
I have loved clutch bags for as long as I can remember. They take me back to the 70's when women dressed to the nines with beautiful accessories like gloves, hats and clutches. My granny and my mother, both carried clutch bags. They remind me of a really big envelope.

Relax and Rejuvenate!
I love the aroma of lavender oil. I normally use it at bedtime because it relaxes me. Lavender essential oil has soothing, calming and healing properties to relieve headaches and help induce sleep, which we all need more of. Lastly, lavender oil is a great antiseptic for your hair and skin. Pick it up from your local Whole Foods or Simply Wholesome!
