Balmain's Spring 2009 collection out of Paris is taking me back to 80's punk rock and when Michael Jackson influenced a culture with his music, his dancing and his style of over the top military studded jackets. The use of crystals on the designs and stilettos give them a wow factor. Models rocked feminine and masculine pieces on the runway. The black jeans look like they have a crystal ankh embroidered on the front, if so, great minds think alike because as you can see, the ankh is the symbol I'm using alongside my logo for my business, Divine Life Collection!

Obama On The Cover Of Men's Vogue
Barack Obama is featured on the cover of Men's Vogue October 2008 issue. Can't wait for it to hit newsstands so I can add to my never ending collection of fashion mags. On top of his vision for the country, Obama has a great demeanor and style about himself. Obama has definitely been embraced by the fashion community. Men's Vogue new tagline is "Style is how you live." I feel it is a great tagline because how we live is about to "CHANGE" if you know what I mean. I hope everyone has registered to vote because the deadline is fast approaching.

Fashion and Movies: Mahogany
Diana Ross was the epitome of glamour in the 1975 movie, Mahogany!! Definitely one of my favorite fashion forward movies of all time. Whether she was casual, going to her design class or working the runway, wearing her own creations in Rome; Diana Ross (Tracey Chambers) was always on point. Fashion from the seventies is influencing our style right now in 2008!

Milan Fashion Week Spring 2009: Dsquared2
Just when I thought I was finished posting on Milan Fashion Week 2009, I stumble upon Dsquared2 and I'm speechless!! My favorite is the white, three-piece pant suit with the gorgeous, lucite necklace. The whole runway show had a "Charlie's Angels" vibe going on which I thought was genius because I was such a fan of the show back in the day. The collection went from funky casual to sexy glam. Dean & Dan are twin designers with impeccable style!!

Fashion Stylist: Rachel Zoe
With no formal fashion training, Rachel Zoe is a top fashion stylist to such celebrities as Joy Bryant, Jennifer Garner and Debra Messing. Her style is on point because she has such an eye for fashion. Her new show, The Rachel Zoe Project www.bravotv.com/The_Rachel_Zoe_Project/season/1/about/index.php takes us in a day and a life at "Camp Zoe " with Rachel and her style team, Taylor and Brad. The show is filmed at her home, here in Los Angeles, (which doubles as her fashion studio) but also takes us to New York and abroad to different fashion houses from Michael Kors to J. Mendel. I love Rachel Zoe's job. Imagine, shopping for beautiful designs, accessories, and shoes; and getting paid for it; but I would actually do this for free!!!

Milan Fashion Week Spring 2009: Etro
Etro Spring 2009 has a laid back feel. A girl likes to be comfortable without giving up on style. This collection keeps it relaxed and stylish. Yes, I know, the first model is sporting a fanny pack and any true fashionista would not be caught wearing one but hey, at least its a mini croc-bag and you gotta admit that the embellishment on her tank is gorgeous. Did I just justify her ensemble???
