Today my girlfriend and I went to Mood Designer Fabric store in Los Angeles, on the hunt for printed cotton. I have to say I was in fabric heaven because the immense textures and vibrant colors had me in awe. Mood is the fabulous fabric palace that Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn have the contestants of Project Runway pick up yards and yards of exquisite material for their next challenge in New York City.

Fashion's Night Out is fast approaching. This year it will debut in other major cities alongside New York City; such as Beverly Hills, Washington D.C. and Dallas. I attended last year at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills, where the festivites included fashion shows and of course, shopping, shopping and more shopping. Who's attending this year???

Beverly Hills is definitely planning to host Fashion Night’s Out in true LA style, with celebrity, parties, drinks, food trucks, and more in the mix. You can ride a ferris wheel, go watch Samuel L. "Mahogany" premiered on TVOne tonight. It was such a good movie, with a mix of high fashion and love. Diana Ross played aspiring fashion designer, Tracy Chambers who falls in love with politician, Brian Walker, played by Billy Dee Williams. Diana Ross was absolutely stunning in the film and her wardrobe was insane with 70's flare.

By far, my favorite line in the movie was when Billy Dee says, " Success is NOTHING, if you don't have someone you love to share it with!"

Mo'Nique has done it yall! She has won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Precious. Mo'Nique gave a very humbling acceptance speech all the while looking amazing in a cobalt blue Tadashi Shoji gown. Most of the women of the cast of Precious, including Oprah Winfrey wore blue, as a tribute to Hattie McDaniel who wore the same color back at the 1939 Oscars as she accepted her award.

Gabourey Sidibe is truly living a fairytale; from college student to Best Actress Nominee and hobknobbing with Oprah Winfrey. Her royal blue Marchesa gown fit her beautifully.

Elizabeth Banks' slate grey Versace ruffled gown was pure glamour.

Now this is what haute couture is all about; it should be like none other and so unexpected. Zoe Saldana looks like a fashion god and I know some may not agree but her Givenchy lavender color block gown was breathtaking. By far my fav!!

Queen Latifah is a goddess in a violet Marchesa gown.

Demi Moore does not age. She looks lovely in a peach Atelier Versace gown.

Paula Patton looks beautiful in a tangerine orange Carolina Herrera gown. Is it me, or does it seem that Paula has been pregnant for an eternity??

Congratulations to actress, Mo'Nique; She won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie, Precious!!

This was a very emotional, raw movie that needed to be told because it brings light to a horrible situation that is often covered up. Mo'Nique definitely put her heart and soul into this character so this award is well deserved!!!!!

Yes, without a doubt, I love Target!! It is such a one stop shop for so many items; and coming December 20 is Rodarte which is a brand of clothing and accessories founded by Kate and Laura Mulleavy. The Mulleavy sisters are U.C. Berkeley graduates from Pasadena, California and have received a number of industry awards since the line's inception in 2005 and have a huge celebrity following. The sisters have also collaborated with Gap.

I'm excited to see the collection when it arrives in stores; and from the looks below, I can see myself in some of these pieces especially the cardigans.

I arrived home yesterday to find a gift nestled on my mailbox from my friend Dymesha of Trendy Teez . It was these wonderful beads that she handmade for me. They have little ankh charms attached to them. I call them "Life" beads because the ankh is an Ancient Egyptian symbol that represents Life.

Although I didn't follow season 6 of Project Runway from week to week, I did catch the finale. Irina Shabayeva won the challenge. Her color palette was black and stunning; however it was hard to see the different textures of Irina's collection, nonetheless it was innovative with a mix of punk and sass.

I never thought about that! But everything is possible, so it's nice. It's nice that people are pleased. It's good that people think about these things, that they have a fantasy.

Who is your favorite shoe designer, other than yourself?
Of now? Alaïa.

How is designing shoes for specific designers' collections different from your process alone?
It is different, it is because it puts you in a different situation. When I'm thinking shoes I'm thinking details, silhouette, etc.--but I really think in terms of details. When you work with designers, you have to fade your idea into another idea. I never think clothes when I'm designing shoes, so when I work with designers, it's a different attitude. It's a nice challenge.

So you would never branch into designing clothes yourself?
Never! Never, that's my idea of hell. I was asked to do a line. I was like, 'Are you crazy?'

It's no secret that Forever 21 is one of my favorite, affordable stores that I visit quite often, so I was in for a treat when I stopped by to see that it had been transformed into a two story palace.
